I and Thou Reflection – Hear God’s Gentle Nudge

Blog_Pic4Don’t ignore God today. God knows you are running late and you think that it matters in the scheme of life. Let God tell you a secret – it doesn’t. Whether you are late or not – it doesn’t really matter. Now, sometimes it is important to be on time – for example to church – this way you can pay your dues and leave on time. Maybe you go to church because you feel obligated to go. Do you really worship God?  You find it difficult to worship God because there are many distractions in this life. You are worried about your kids fitting in socially – so you sign them up for sports. That is just one example of you putting your needs before  Church. If you really knew the reason for going to church – maybe you would actually go more often. You see – God wants to be your friend. And in church, this is where God connects to you because you don’t communicate with Him the rest of the week. What God wants is to share His love and He can do that in church but only if you open yourself to allow the connection. It is very difficult for you to sit still and feel God’s presence. You have to shut down your human mind that is swirling around with idle thoughts.

The key is to think divinely – something supernatural – after all God invented the natural and the supernatural. God is humble;  yet he feels that you think of Him as this majestic God of the universe seeking to overthrow the power of the world to reign supreme. It really isn’t like that at all. What God really wants is for the earth to go back to the beginning of time so there can have a “do over”. This time, there will be no sin. Eve will be strong and have courage to say “no” to the serpent. Both Cain and Abel will work together and bring both types of sacrifices and God will bless each of them. Moses will gladly accept his mission and he will speak eloquently and the Jews will take the short cut to the promise land. Then, all Jews and gentiles will live in peace in the land of milk and honey. And, Jonah won’t have to run away because the people in Nineveh will be godly people.

You are slowly listening and hearing God.  God promises when you trust and listen to Him – great things will happen.  Remember God is your heavenly Father and everyone else can wait. God needs you to remember His priorities.  God loves you and He wants you to practice what you preach -– you are slowly transforming your thinking and God wants you to continue to be open to Him, His thoughts and His gentle nudging. God wants to bring you to places where you want to go – however, it needs to be done God’s way which requires patience, grace, love and hope. You have these virtues although God knows you need to work on patience. You have the rest of your life to be patient. To listen. To hear. Only His sheep hears His voice. And, you are His sheep that needs to find lost sheep and bring them home. It is a huge task but if you trust God – He will be right beside you as you find and minister to them. Trust God. Keep your mind focused on the cross. On God.  On love. On forgiveness. On healing. God has great plans for you –  please take a deep breath, try to relax and let the spirit dwell within you. God wants this spirit to guide you and your thinking. Are you up for this? God will help you along the way. Now, please be calm and remember God’s love in all you do and say today.

I and Thou Reflection – Transformational Talents

Blog_Pic3Stop answering phone calls when you have been prompted to listen to God. Life can wait. You can stop and you can take time to be quiet; only when you are quiet and still you can listen. You can learn from the people in your life. Some have the gift of listening coupled with a gentle, quiet sprit.

God is proud of how you are working through what you need to work through.  This is the year for you to bite the bullet and free yourself from all the pains of debt. God has heard your cries and He knows you have struggled with completely trusting in Him. He knows your heart and He knows that you have walked with Him through the pain. In all of your struggles, you need to think of how God can help you with your finances. Continue to give – don’t be so stingy. For all the money you give – you will get back in other ways. Trust God on that one. You will be financially secure soon. Let’s work together and rid these debts one by one. Let God take care of the “rights” and “wrongs”. Don’t waste another minute of your precious time worrying about these debts. They are God’s and He has already paid them.

God wants you to be free to spend time on pursuing your talents. It is your talents that will transform people’s thinking. You are meant to shine – to share God’s love to the world. Life isn’t easy – yet some of life’s lessons are so simple. Like the words God said about husbands and wives. Spouses need to love each other. And, God is sorry that some spouses can’t seem to figure out how to do that.  Some of those spouses will eventually find their way. You may never hear a spouses regrets – God is sorry you were mistreated and disrespected. Someday your children will realize that you had the strength and courage to leave a marriage that was empty; empty of love, empty of intimacy.  God created marriage for intimacy. He created marriage so two people can come together and be vulnerable with each other. This vulnerability opens your hearts to God’s presence.

Marriage is in a state of current flux. Too many couples are divorcing because they don’t follow the simple instruction of marrying someone of similar faith. Faith is the cornerstone of marriage, relationships and life in general. Faith brings hope and hope brings fresh love for each new day. Love grows. It is not stagnant. It is positive – it is not negative. Love is a team – it is not single thinking. Relationships that rely on God’s guidance are the one’s that will prosper and succeed. We all need to transform our thinking from selfishness to selflessness. Just as God places you in high regard – you need to place all the people you love in high regard – this will allow you to see people the way God see’s them. God created people to commune with Himself and each other.  He created people out of love for one another. Don’t underestimate the power of love. It can really supersede all other emotions. Very similar to the love you have for your children; the deep loving human bond of parent and child.

Keep feeling positive and full of hope. This is the year to rid yourself of guilt – put your old way of thinking away – bury it – and create a new way of thinking. A higher way of thinking – this is what is meant of “to be Christ-like”. Enter into the realm of God’s presence – a place of love and openness; a place where life’s difficulties are handed over to God; a place where you can feel free and light. There is no need to carry the baggage any longer. Your past is your past. You will learn and grow more. Look toward the future with great anticipation; for God is there for you – waiting for you to meet Him. In the depth of your soul is where God lives so tap into that life force for wisdom. Be open to God’s presence and continue to use your talents  – for God has shared them only with you – lay your life down and see where it will go.

I and Thou Reflection – New Thinking

Blog_Pic2

It’s hard for you to stop your busy life to listen to God. God wants you to keep trying and don’t beat yourself up if you don’t. Keep your eyes and ears on God. Listen carefully and God will speak so you can listen. He wants you to concentrate on living in the present. In all you do give thanks. Give thanks that you are learning great lessons for life. This year especially is going to be about change.  Don’t ask questions – trust God…

God knows you are not feeling well.  Trust God to heal you.  God is the healer – nothing is too large or too small for Him. Enter into His presence and experience love, grace and truth. Splendor is the word God chooses to describe eternal life. You will have perfect teeth and a perfect body that has no aches or pains. Your mind will think clearly and not have pain or pressure from life’s ills; you my dear need to change your thinking. Yes, God wants you to continue to be honest – work hard and do what you need to do – but don’t make it make you sick.  You have worked very hard the past few years – so keep that in mind when you force yourself to take breaks at work.  Breaks are good.  Trust God on this. Test God. God is truth and He is faithful – Now get on with your day with a new type of thinking.

I and Thou Reflection – Out of the Whirlwind

Jesus died on the cross so that people don’t have to get hung up on laws or rules, if you will. His grace is sufficient. People spend their whole lives working toward being good, following the rules of society and what is in their heart—which may not be the truth.

Church is not truth. Marriage is not truth. Only God is truth. You need to open your heart to receive God. And when you do, God reveals truth. Only God. Not lawyers. Not man. God’s commandment is to love one another. Focus on love and you will find truth. The inner spirit within you is God. So, be quiet and listen to Him.

God is not a control freak. He wants you to live abundantly in His love. You can’t understand the divine with a human mind. God has chosen you to reflect His love.  God wants you to focus on love. Love that is super human. God wants the whole world to know that you did not endure your pain for nothing. Your pain and suffering will lead people to God.

You need to listen more carefully to God’s nudges— God wants you to write His messages down on paper. Will you do that for Him?

God has given you talent and perseverance to do what you want to do. God will open doors that are unimaginable for you.  God can’t reveal the future to you—God wants you to rest assure that you will be in the palm of His hands. God will lead you and I know that you will follow.

You have a great opportunity each day at your work. Make them be rememberable. Stop complaining and praise God for employment. You have good health right now—be thankful that God has kept you from harm. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Look to God—look up—ahead—He will be there—all you have to do is follow. Trust God—He is your heavenly Father.

Earthly relationships are full of baggage and parents inflict wounds upon their children without realization. They mean no harm. But you —you have been blessed with an openness to God and you seek His wisdom. Continue to seek God’s wisdom.

God has sent you many angels to assist you with your thinking and decision making.  Treasure them.  Love them.  Be strong.  Be a rock.    Learn to trust God and fear less. The enemy is constantly fighting.  Release your fear to God.

Remember life on earth is limited—life with God is eternal.  Rid yourself of all the bitterness in your heart. Yes—you were wronged. But how could others come to God without the pain you suffered? Keep your mind and heart focused on God. There is a greater purpose for all of that pain. God will meet your worldly needs.

In all you do, give thanks. It’s okay to question God. He loves questions. It’s okay to doubt His existence.  He can sometimes hardly explain it himself. —But what God can tell you is that He is your heavenly Father and Jesus rolled up in One. One that is truth. One that is responsible for your existence. He is mighty. He is gentle. He is truth. He is love.

Now—get on with your day, remembering to be thankful and lighthearted. Think clearly and be calm. Smile with love in your heart. The love that God has put there is for those close to you to enjoy. And for those afar to see His presence within you.
